it is not christian.

" like all non-christian cults, the jehovah's witness organization distorts the essential doctrines of christianity.

The Watchtower Society has presumed to take the place that Jesus holds in the minds of most Christians. Instead of looking to Jesus as the mediator for Christians and the only way to salvation, they claim that only by joining and following them can one have a relationship with Jehovah. This means that all members are personally answerable to the Watchtower Society.

Members have been trained to believe a relationship with Jehovah through Jesus is impossible without belonging to the Watchtower Society. At the start of 2010 Jehovah’s Witnesses began using a new song book entitled, Sing to Jehovah. It contains 135 songs, 42 of which are new. Not one of the song titles contains the name Jesus or Christ. The Society’s own Bible states, ‘ He that does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.’ John 5:23

I don't claim to be a Christian but when I was a Jehovah's Witness I did make that claim. I was sincerely wrong.

early yesterday morning i was driving through town on a street that rearly has any foot traffic and never at 7:30 am on a sunday morning and there they were.

a group of jbubs milling about counting time.

i drove a little further and there was a second group walking slowly down the street in the morning drizzle.

When I was a Pioneer - about 100 years ago - we had a whole bag of tricks to get time in easily:

Backcalls that gave us coffee so 2 of us could waste 30 minutes or so sitting down just delivering 2 magazines. Then a long slow walk in the sunshine to the next call and another coffee.

Always stared my time early by putting a few out of date magazines through a few doors on the way to the house we were meeting at.

Also counted my lunch break as an employee working an 8 hour day is entitled to do.

One pioneer bought a small car so he could be more efficient. It worked so well he sold it. When I asked him why he said it saved too much time and he had gone back to walking so he could get his time in.

my first pagan tree!

well, i went to a xmas tree farm today and cut down a pagan tree.

brought it home much to the delight of the wife and daughter.. been 40 years!.

i often wondered why i couldnt come at a tree for the last 12 years out of christianity.

Aussie Oz The term pagan is from the Latin ' paganus' and refers to rural, rustic or of the counrtry. People living in the country who decided not to become Roman Christians were refered to as pagans. So most trees are pagan as they are from the country.

hi everyone; this is my first post.

yes, a long long time ago my grandmother, freshly immigrated from post-war england to rural australia, waiting for months for her husband to follow, with only her baby for company, heard a knock at the door.

she opened it and there were two witnesses, who, after hearing how she'd just been crying in the kitchen, begging god for a friend, probably couldn't have believed their luck.

"if it was'nt for the preaching work there would be millions more witnesses" - he was saying jehovah wants quality not quantity.. si i'm thinking, what's the difference as long as he has a people that live by bible standards and are moral.

maybe sharing their hope and faith with friends and relatives on a casual basis?
